Is Atharintiki Dharedhi really pushed to Pongal?

Trivikram and Pawan Kalyan’s second project together, Attharintiki Daaredhi was supposed to release this week. The political crisis in parts of the state has forced the postponement of the film’s release. Now the people associated with AD are headed towards a crisis. Assuming an August release, the distributors acquired the distribution rights at hefty prices. Now this indefinite postponement has put them in a situation of uncertainty.
Certain sections even sparked off a rumor that the movie was going to be pushed to the Sankranthi season. This created some more panic causing the distributors to demand the film’s producer, BVSN Prasad that a percentage of the agreed-upon fee is returned back to them. The more pressing problem with the Sankranthi season is that, Mahesh Babu’s 1-Nenokkadine and Allu Arjun’s Race Gurram are already gearing up to butt heads for the Sankranthi season. Trying to push AD back to Sankranthi would eat into the profits of all three movies.
The producer, BVSN Prasad, is confident of being able to release the movie on 29th of this month without any more delays. With the Telangana and Samaikhyandhra movements threatening to meddle with the release it would be interesting to see the circumstances of the movie’s release. Let us hope 29th this month would prove to be a good opening date.
